PINE GROVE − A 16-year-old Plainfield boy is dead following a one-vehicle crash Sunday evening.
At 9:15 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a crash on Harding Road, north of Akron Avenue, near the Portage County town of Pine Grove, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol.
A 2006 Ford Ranger was going north on Harding Avenue when it left the road and hit a tree, according to the State Patrol. The 16-year-old male driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Waushara County Emergency Medical Services took a 16-year-old girl, who was a passenger, to Aspirus Stevens Point Hospital with injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening.
The Portage County Sheriff’s Office, Waushara County Sheriff’s Office, Plainfield Fire Department, Waushara County EMS and Portage County Medical Examiner’s Department all responded to the scene with the State Patrol.
The names of the victims are not being released because they are minors.
