‘A miracle has happened’: James Woods’ house survives LA fires

James Woods’ California home is still standing after the Pacific Palisades fire tore through his neighborhood.

The Oscar-nominated actor, who is from and still has a home in Rhode Island, previously thought his house had been destroyed in the Los Angeles fires.

“It feels like losing a loved one,” he wrote on X Wednesday.

But on Friday, he found his house had survived.

“A miracle has happened. We managed to get to our property and our home, that we were told is gone forever, is still standing,” Woods wrote on X. “In this hellish landscape ‘standing’ is relative, but smoke and other damage is not like the utter destruction around us.”

Actor James Woods attends the 2017 Writers Guild Awards L.A. Ceremony at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on February 19, 2017 in Beverly Hills, California.

Woods shared photos and videos of the devastation surrounding his house, including neighbors’ houses that have been destroyed.

“One side is perfection, the other sheer devastation destruction,” Woods said in one video. “While we rejoice to find our house intact, in the midst of a hellscape like this, you can only think of your neighbors.”

Woods criticizes Democratic politicians in California and Massachusetts

A vocal conservative, Woods has blamed Democratic leaders in California for the fires.

He has repeatedly called for the resignation or recall of Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and California Gov. Gavin Newsom on X, calling them both “liberal idiots.”

“It took mere hours for the ineptitude of Gavin Newsom and Karen Bass to render the Pacific Palisades a scorched wasteland. To rebuild will be a gargantuan task,” he wrote on X. “The first necessary step must be to recall these two worthless political hacks.”

He also called Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren a “vulture” for sharing a donation link through the Democratic fundraising platform Act Blue for the L.A. Fire Department and the United Way of Greater L.A.

What is the status of the Palisades Fire?
