Police are investigating the events that led to the death of a woman after she was hit by a car in the South Park neighborhood of Seattle.
Around 5:41 p.m. on Monday, Seattle police answered calls about a person being hit by a car near 14th Avenue South and South Henderson Street.
When police and fire crews arrived they found a 56-year-old woman with life-threatening injuries.
She was taken to Harborview Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
The area was closed off during the investigation.
According to police, the 24-year-old man driving the car turned left and struck the victim who was in the crosswalk. The man remained at the scene and cooperated with police.
Police did not suspect impairment and did not arrest the man.
