Nearly 4 inches of snow will fall in Ohio this evening.
The storm will reach the Buckeye State around 4 p.m. and will last about 12 hours, according to Karen Clark, a meteorologist who works in the Cleveland office of the National Weather Service.
“We’re looking for about 2-4 inches total,” Clark said. “It should be pretty widespread, so a couple inches of snow for the whole area.”
The weather service has issued a winter-weather advisory lasting from 4 p.m. to 4 a.m. for the following Ohio counties: Richland, Crawford, Ashland, Wayne, Marion, Holmes, Ottawa, Sandusky, Erie, Knox, Morrow, Wyandot, Huron, Seneca, Lucas, Wood and Hancock.

How bad will the snow be?
The snowfall this evening will be steady but calm.
“The winds are not actually expected to be real strong with this one,” Clark said. “Generally less than 10 miles an hour, so I don’t think there’s going to be much concern for drifting.”
The overnight low is forecast at 20 degrees. Saturday’s high should be about 27.
“We might see some thawing on the roads and things during the daytime hours,” Clark said. “Some of that could maybe refreeze or freeze again overnight, but temperatures are going to stay pretty much in the low 20s, so no chance of any freezing rain or sleet or anything.”

Temperatures colder than normal will continue
The storm will clear out Saturday morning, but the rest of the weekend will still be mostly cloudy.
“We actually dry out for Saturday night and Sunday,” Clark said. “Maybe some light chances of snow on Monday.”
Temperatures are expected to remain below freezing for at least another week.
“We’re running a little below normal for this time of year,” Clark said. “Normal high is 34 degrees with a low of 20.”
Snow falls Tuesday morning as shoppers walk into WalMart.
Highs for the next week are forecast to be 27 degrees on Saturday, 28 on Sunday, 28 Monday, 13 Tuesday, 16 Wednesday and 21 Thursday.
Overnight lows will be about 14 degrees on Saturday, 21 on Sunday, 6 Monday, 6 Tuesday and 6 Wednesday.
