Albion man killed in one-vehicle crash in Elk Creek Township Sunday night

GIRARD — An Albion man was killed Sunday night when his car left the roadway and crashed in Elk Creek Township, according to the Pennsylvania State Police.

The victim, identified by state police as 85-year-old Richard S. Pavolko, was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:51 p.m. Sunday following the accident, which was reported on Sunday at about 7:15 p.m. on Crossingville Road near West Road, according to state police in Girard and the Erie County Coroner’s Office.

According to troopers, Pavolko was driving a Cadillac DTS west on Crossingville Road when he crossed into the eastbound lane and then left the roadway and went into some woods. The car crossed a stream before coming to rest in a ditch, state police reported.
