Alvin Kamara did not practice Wednesday due to an illness

The Saints aren’t sure who will start at quarterback for them against the Commanders on Sunday, but they’re likely to have one of the team’s top offensive players even though he didn’t practice on Wednesday.

Running back Alvin Kamara missed the day’s session due to an illness, but interim head coach Darren Rizzi told reporters the club is hopeful to get him back on Thursday.

Kamara leads the Saints with 938 rushing yards, 64 receptions, and 485 receiving yards. He’s scored seven total touchdowns this season.

As expected, quarterback Derek Carr (concussion/left hand) did not participate on Wednesday.

Linebacker D’Marco Jackson (ankle) was also held out of the session.

Tight end Juwan Johnson (foot) and receiver Bub Means (ankle) were limited.

Defensive end Tanoh Kpassagnon (Achilles) was a full participant.
