An elderly resident was found dead after this house fire in Burlington County

An elderly Westampton Township resident was found dead in a fire-damaged home.

The Pennington Drive home of 71-year-old Shun Ying Leung was “well involved in flames” when police and firefighters responded to the blaze at approximately 6:20 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, Westampton police said. Firefighters from Westampton and other towns contained the blaze, but access to the interior was impeded by “hoarding conditions.”

A K-9 deployed by New Jersey State Police found the victim’s body.
