Are Hagerstown or Chambersburg stores on the Kohl’s closure list?

Kohl’s plans to close 27 of its underperforming stores by April 2025 as part of the struggling retailer’s transformation process.

Locally, the Kohl’s stores at 17145 Cole Road, Hagerstown, Md., and 955 Norland Ave., Chambersburg, are not on the list.

Ten of the locations being shuttered are in California.

No stores in Maryland are slated for closure, while in Pennsylvania one store – in Pottstown – will close, according to USA Today.

Kohl’s will still have more than 1,120 locations.

“We always take these decisions very seriously,” Tom Kingsbury, who will step down as CEO on Jan. 15, is quoted as saying by USA Today. “As we continue to build on our long-term growth strategy, it is important that we also take difficult but necessary actions to support the health and future of our business for our customers and our teams.”
