Area news in brief for Jan. 7

MARLINGTON MEETING – Marlington Local Schools Board of Education plans its organizational meeting for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Marlington High School’s Digital Learning Zone, 10450 Moulin Ave. in Lexington Township.

KNOX TRUSTEES – Knox Township trustees has canceled its Jan. 7 regular meeting. Trustees next will meet at 7 p.m. Jan. 21.

INDOOR MARKET – St. Stephen Martyr Lutheran Church, 4600 Fulton Drive NW in Jackson Township, plans an Indoor Farmers Market from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Featured items include breads, candy, cheese, goat milk, rolls, honey, apples and apple butter, bee products, beef products, fresh pasta, essential oils, cupcakes, a meat vendor, soups, cookies, gluten free products and homegrown fresh greens and herbs. The church’s café will serve its homemade vegetable soup that can be eaten in or sold by the quart to take home. For more information, call the church at 330-492-4591.

ALLIANCE ZONING – City of Alliance’s Board of Zoning Appeals will meet at 4:30 p.m. Jan. 21 in the second-floor conference room at the City Administration Building, 504 E. Main St. in Alliance. Among items to be discussed are appeals for signs for Dixie Mart at 455 E. State St.; and Ohio Dream Team LLC at 1170 W. State St.

WEST BRANCH – West Branch Local Schools Board of Education plans a special meeting at 5 p.m. Tuesday at West Branch High School, 14277 S. Main St. in Beloit. Purpose of the meeting is to consider confidential information related to marketing plans and specific business strategy. Officials say no action is expected after the executive session.
