—Greenville Theatre Works Auditions/Rehearsals

Open auditions for Greenville Theatre Works’ production of “Into the Woods” are planned for Tuesday, Jan. 7 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Greenville Municipal Auditorium, with callbacks scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 9 at 7 p.m. Rehearsals will begin later in January (typically on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays) and continue until the show dates on April 25-27 and on May 2-4 at Fletcher Warren Civic Center.

Caddo Mills Fire Rescue invites the public to its Attack 1 Push In Ceremony from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11.

Greenville Parks and Rec will host an 8-ball shootout beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11 at the Parks & Rec office at 2703 Traders Road. Wesley United Methodist Church will begin its next GriefShare cycle — a group of others who are grieving the loss of a loved one — on Sunday, Jan. 19 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Room 1 at the church, located at 1200 East Joe Ramsey Blvd. in Greenville. —WWII History Roundtable

Dr. Kara Vuic — professor of War, Conflict and Society at TCU — will be the next quarterly program of the North Texas World War II History Roundtable Audie Murphy Chapter. Author of four books about women in WWII, Vuic will discuss various ways the military has dealt with gender. The program will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 23 at the Audie Murphy /American Cotton Museum in Greenville. Members and the public are invited.

—Rhythm In Our Blues

The third annual Rhythm in Our Blues “Boy Bands vs. Girl Bands” concert presented by Divine Purpose Entertainment and powered by the City of Greenville is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 25 at 5 p.m. at Greenville Municipal Auditorium with doors opening at 4 p.m. The event is free.

Anyone ready to take the stage and showcase their vocal talent in the The Voice of Hunt County competition sponsored by the Hunt County Leadership Class of 2025 can send audition videos to the City of Greenville through the online form at https://tinyurl.com/3dj83f8k, and will need to complete the form/submit the videos by Jan. 31.
