ALLIANCE ‒ A charge of attempted murder filed against a 33-year-old city resident has been dismissed in Alliance Municipal Court.
Keyairis D. Thompson had also been charged with felonious assault in connection with a shooting that occurred on the night of Dec. 9 in the parking lot of Trilogy Plastics.
Judge Andrew L. Zumbar dismissed both charges at the prosecutor’s request on Wednesday. They were dismissed without prejudice, meaning they could be filed again.
Law Director Catlyn Weyer did not respond to an email seeking comment.
Thompson’s attorney Aaron Kovalchik declined to comment on the case.
A police report said Thompson shot a 34-year-old man once in the right forearm and once on the right side of his chest while the victim sat in his vehicle in the parking lot.
Police Chief Akenra X said the men know each other.
