(FOX40.COM) — Auburn City Manager Sean Rabé announced Lt. Bryan Morrison as the Chief of Police on Jan. 3.
“I’m so pleased to have such a well-respected person take over the reins of the Auburn PoliceDepartment,” City Manager Sean Rabé said. “Bryan has the temperament, professional skills, and vision to lead this department.”
Lt. Morrison has around 26 years of experience in the police industry and four of those are as a Lieutenant for the Auburn Police Department, said in a press release by the city of Auburn.
Officials said he has worked for the department for over eight years beginning as a police officer and working his way up.
Lt. Morrison holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and has been waitlisted for the FBI Academy.
“The fact that Bryan is already working in the department is an added bonus,” Rabé said. “He’sprepared to lead the department from day one.”
Lt. Morrison said he looks forward to furthering the collaboration between the community and the police department to continue making it a great place to live, work, and visit.
“I thank City Manager Rabé for his trust and confidence in selecting me for this crucialposition,” Morrison said. “Working for the Auburn Police Department has been the highlight ofmy career, and I’m excited to continue working with the wonderful women and men of thisdepartment in this new capacity.”
