If you’re in the market for a mini excavator, a four-wheeler, a Kabota utility vehicle, a heavy truck, a lite pickup, or a police car, mark your calendar for Florida Action Network’s government surplus sale on Jan. 25.
“Much more stuff will come in over the weekend and early next week, but typically it’s vehicles and equipment,” John Sewell, owner and auctioneer of Florida Action Network said.
The live auction is open to the public and begins at 9 a.m. at 3847 E. Business Hwy. 98 in Panama City.
Good items will bring somewhere around half to 60% of retail value, the auctioneer said.
Purchases made with any sort of plastic incur a 13% buyer’s premium; otherwise, it’s 10%, Sewell said.
And if you prefer smaller stuff like gold jewelry and electronics, there’s separate online auction for that.
“(The auction) gives our local community an opportunity to be able to get a good deal on assets that are typically well-maintained and keep all the money right here in the local market,” Sewell concluded.
The four sheriff offices participating in the fundraiser are from Bay, Franklin, Gulf and Walton counties. Items from Panama City, Panama City Beach and Springfield will also be listed.
