The Buffalo Bills marched into the second week of the NFL play-offs with a largely dominant 31-7 victory over the Denver Broncos on Wildcard Weekend.
Denver’s exciting rookie quarterback Bo Nix gave the Broncos a shock lead with a touchdown pass on the opening drive – but that was as good as it would get for the visiting seventh seeds.
AFC second seeds Buffalo took charge from there, with MVP candidate Josh Allen throwing two touchdown passes and James Cook running in one during a punishing rushing performance from the Bills.
Cook had 120 yards rushing and his touchdown while Allen had 272 yards passing and also ran for 46 in another excellent performance.
Buffalo’s victory sets up a mouth-watering meeting at home against the Baltimore Ravens next week, where Allen will go head-to-head with fellow MVP favourite Lamar Jackson.
The Houston Texans will visit the Kansas City Chiefs in the other AFC Divisional Round game.
