A young boy who died after being trapped in a car boot has been identified as a 10-year-old named.
Bently was found dead on Sunday afternoon after becoming stuck inside a car boot near Shepparton, 181km north of Melbourne.
His aunt has remembered him on Facebook as a “shining star”, launching a fundraiser for the family.
She described him as an “inquisitive, car loving, minecraft enthusiastic, neurodiverse” boy.
“In a tragic end to a game of hide and seek, our world stopped.
“As a family, our hearts are broken as we try to find some sense in a place that no longer feels whole.”
Bentley’s grandmother died two weeks prior to the tragedy, with the family seeking to raise $20,000 for his funeral expenses.
