A bus driver has died and 13 passengers are injured after a horror crash in NSW.
The bus was travelling on the Hume Highway south of Wagga Wagga at about 3.35am on Saturday.
Police said the bus and a heavy vehicle – both travelling north about 50kms south of Wagga Wagga – had crashed.
The male driver of the bus was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, died at the scene.
NSW police said: ‘Paramedics are currently treating 13 bus passengers for a range of injuries including lacerations and one man with a suspected broken leg. Police have been told none of the injuries are life-threatening.
‘The driver of the truck was not injured and has been taken to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital for mandatory testing.’
All northbound lanes of the Hume Highway are closed and motorists are urged to avoid the area and monitor www.livetraffic.com for updates.
