Dec. 9—LISBON — The cause of a fire at a local printing company Monday morning is still being investigated, according to fire officials.
Lisbon Fire Chief Craig Bouchard said at the scene that the fire at Dingley Press at 119 Lisbon St. was reported at 9:13 am. Initially, one employee was reported missing but they were found safely before fire crews arrived. No injuries were reported.
Fire crews were able to immediately access the building to knock the flames down and ventilate the building through the roof, Bouchard said.
The cause of the fire was still unknown Monday afternoon and water damage to the building and equipment had not yet been assessed.
Some 11 trucks and firefighters from Lewiston, Topsham, Sabattus and Durham assisted Lisbon Fire Department.
Fire officials and a representative from Dingley Press were not available for further details Monday afternoon.
A fire also occurred at the business in January. Few details were shared publicly on the cause of the fire and extent of the damage.
According to the company’s website, Dingley Press was founded in Lewiston in 1928 and is a nationally recognized business, ranked among the largest of catalog printers in the United States.
The business, worth over $100 million, now employs more than 500 employees following a $17 million expansion in 2017.
