A Conyers woman was shot and left dead on Christmas Day, according to the City of Monroe Police Department.
Monroe police say they were called to a home on Maple Way off of Hwy. 78 just after 6 p.m. on Wednesday, where they found a woman shot. Police reported that the woman’s husband was also shot, but the family told Channel 2′s Courtney Francisco, the husband was not injured.

Tyesha Colley, 35, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her 41-year-old husband, Jermaul Colley, was there when it happened. The family told Francisco that Colley had scrapes on his knees after falling to the ground when he saw his wife.
Shortly after, police arrested 21-year-old Devin Sullivan and charged him with murder and aggravated assault.

Monroe Police did not comment on what led up to the shootings or if Sullivan knew the victims.
Sullivan is currently being held in the Walton County Jail.
