Dec. 19—The City of McAlester extends its heartfelt appreciation to the Spirit of Blue Foundation for their donation of trauma kits to the McAlester Police Department. The City Council formally recognized this contribution through the approval of a resolution during their most recent meeting.
“We are deeply grateful to the Spirit of Blue Foundation for their generous donation and commitment to law enforcement safety,” Police Chief Kevin Hearod said. “These trauma kits are a vital addition to our officers’ equipment and will undoubtedly save lives in critical situations.”
“This donation is a testament to the incredible support organizations like the Spirit of Blue Foundation provide to communities like ours,” Grants Administrator Michael Allen said. “We are proud to have worked with them to secure these life-saving tools for our officers.”
In May 2024, the City of McAlester’s grants office submitted an application to the Spirit of Blue Foundation, a nonprofit organization based in Oregon that is dedicated to enhancing the safety and protection of law enforcement officers across the nation. The application requested 60 professional-grade trauma kits, essential tools designed to provide critical medical assistance in emergencies.
The City was notified that the request had been approved as an in-kind donation. The Spirit of Blue Foundation’s support reinforces their ongoing mission to equip law enforcement agencies with resources that enhance safety and preparedness.
The resolution passed by the City Council serves to officially acknowledge and thank the Spirit of Blue Foundation for their invaluable support. This donation reflects the importance of collaboration between communities and organizations dedicated to public safety.
