Long-time television and radio personality Robert “Bob” Dunnally has died at age 68.
Dunnally was a former NBC4 meteorologist for over 20 years, initially joining as a weathercaster about 28 years ago.
He left NBC4 in 2022 to fight pancreatic cancer. Despite becoming cancer-free this May, he had suffered complications in the recovery process, according to NBC4.
His passing comes with much devastation from the community as Dunnally was well-known for using his unique voice to get many to tune in to his early morning weather news.
Dunnally’s family announced his passing to NBC4 Sunday morning.

“The family requests privacy during this difficult time as we grieve our loss and personally contact family members,” according to the statement from Nunnally’s family. “Thank you for your understanding and kind thoughts.”
In NBC4’s broadcast announcing Dunnally’s passing, the anchors shared memories of Dunnally being kind with a gentle sense of humor.
The Marion native earned his title as a meteorologist from Mississippi State University, but he began his career on the air much earlier at WNCI in 1977 as a DJ and host of a public affairs program.
Six years later, he grew a loyal following as an afternoon host for Sunny 95 and was the music director for 14 years.
Eventually joining the NBC4 morning crew, the Marion native became known for more than his storm reports. He alsosupported charities like The American Heart Association and Cancer Society and even helped abandoned pets find families in his Find A Friend segment at NBC4.
