CT man arrested in connection with assault in Groton

Police arrested a man on Monday in connection with an assault in Groton.

Sean Walsh, 26, of the Taftville section of Norwich was arrested shortly before 5:20 p.m. at a residence in Groton, according to the City of Groton Police Department.

Police said Walsh had warrants out for his arrest in connection with a previous assault in Groton as well as the theft of alcohol. He also had two warrants out charging him with violation of probation, according to police.

Walsh faces charges of first-degree assault, conspiracy to commit first-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree breach of peace, false statement and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny. He also faces two counts of violation of probation.

Walsh was held on a $295,000 bond and was expected to face a judge on Tuesday.
