Damian Lillard reportedly signs lifetime contract extension with Adidas

Fresh off an NBA Cup title, Damian Lillard is joining an exclusive club. The Milwaukee Bucks point guard has agreed to a lifetime contract extension with Adidas, per ESPN’s Shams Charania.

With the deal, Lillard becomes the fourth active NBA player with a lifetime shoe sponsorship, joining LeBron James and Kevin Durant, whose hold lifetime deals with Nike, and Stephen Curry, whose lifetime deal with Under Armour includes his own Curry Brand.

Lillard has been with Adidas since he first joined the league in 2012. In 2014, he signed a 10-year deal reportedly worth up to $100 million. That deal expired this offseason, per Charania.

The eight-time All-Star has a signature shoe with Adidas, the “Adidas Dame.”

The veteran guard helped lead the Bucks to a title at the second-ever NBA Cup, capturing the win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday. It was a much-needed win for a Milwaukee team that is still figuring out how Lillard, Giannis Antetokounmpo and head coach Doc Rivers could fit together as a championship team.

Lillard is averaging 25.7 points, 4.5 rebounds and 7.5 assists so far this season.
