A death investigation is underway after Louisville Metro Police officers found a body at Carrie Gaulbert Cox Park Tuesday morning.
Fifth Division officers from Louisville Metro Police were dispatched to the park at 11:30 a.m. on a report of a body found in the Ohio River. Officers located the body of a woman “in the water deceased,” LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said in a statement. LMPD’s Homicide Unit is investigating and detectives are currently pursuing leads in the case, he said.
The investigation marks the second body to be found at Cox Park in a week, as the body of a man who police said was “obliviously deceased” was found Wednesday.
