News Center 7′s John Bedell spoke to Jeff Hoagland, president and CEO of the Dayton Development Coalition about this announcement.

Hoagland called it “one of the biggest wins in the history of economic development for the state of Ohio.”

He spoke about the importance of having the facility in close proximity to Wright Patterson Air Force Base.

“Being able to literally drive an hour down the road versus going to Arizona or going to California to do the testing and then to see the manufacturing being done. I know the folks here, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, it’s going to be a lot easier for them just to go to Columbus versus to California,” Hoagland said.

The goal is to have the plant operational by 2035.
