Deputy saves felon from burning car on I-90
Video captured the moment a King County Sheriff’s Deputy rushed toward danger to pull a convicted felon from a burning car.
It happened on Nov. 27 on Interstate 90.
The department says just before 10:30 p.m. a deputy in Preston spotted a stolen car tied to several burglaries in Redmond and Sammamish.
The deputy planned to stop the car, but the driver spotted a patrol car behind him and started to speed up.
A chase began and deputies say the man ended up wrecking the car on the side of I-90. The Audi rolled and caught on fire.
Video shows the deputy running toward the burning vehicle, dragging the man out of the car, and saving his life.
The man was taken to the hospital where he was treated for some injuries. He was then arrested with the recommended charges of Attempting to Elude a Police Vehicle and Possession of a Stolen Vehicle.
The man was already a convicted felon for residential burglary and possession of a stolen car. There was also a misdemeanor warrant for DUI for him.
