Dover teen dies days after being shot Christmas Eve

A 14-year-old from Dover has died after he was shot while sitting in his car on Christmas Eve, according to Dover police.

Police said they received a call from Bayhealth Kent Campus around 6:50 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a teenager, later identified as Juwan Walker, admitted to the hospital with a gunshot wound to his upper body.

An investigation revealed Walker was in a parked car on Willis Road, north of North Little Creek Road, when two males approached the vehicle. One of the males fired several rounds at the vehicle before both left the scene on foot.

Walker went to Bayhealth Kent Campus before being flown to Nemours Children’s Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on Dec. 27, police said.
