Dozens of flights canceled at Louisville Muhammad Ali airport amid Winter Storm Blair

More than two dozens flights out of Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport are canceled Monday morning amid Kentucky’s first significant winter storm of the season.

SDF spokesperson Natalie Chaudoin said a travel advisory was issued for Saturday night into Monday with it at the airline’s discretion to cancel or delay flights. On Sunday, 20 departing flights and 25 arriving flights were canceled as of 7 a.m. Additional cancelations continued throughout the day and as of 6:30 a.m. Monday, dozens of departing flights and some arriving flights have been canceled.

The airport’s snow team worked in shifts Sunday to clear more than 17 miles of airfield roadways and runways and will continue to do so “for as long as needed to ensure we are open and operational,” Chaudoin said.

Louisville International Airport cancels flights during Monday storm

According to the airport’s flight status tracker, at least 26 flights are canceled Monday as of 7 a.m. Airport officials advised passengers Sunday to be prepared for more cancellations and delays as Winter Storm Blair moves east, and to check their flight’s status frequently through their airline’s website or mobile app.
