BERKELEY – A driver is in the hospital after crashing into a pickup truck with a trailer early Saturday morning, officials said.
The Ford F-250 with a trailer attached was trying to turn around on Route 9 near Hickory Lane when it had backed into the concrete block on the shoulder, according to the Berkeley Township Police Department. The driver of the Ford stopped in the middle of the road and got out of the car to check the concrete block.
While the driver of the Ford was out of the truck, a Toyota Corolla crashed into the Ford. Police said an ambulance took the driver of the Toyota to Jersey Shore Medical Center due to serious injuries.

Route 9 between Hickory Lane and Station Road was closed for about an hour, according to the police. The crash is still under investigation.
