Edenton Retirement Community Veterans Recognized

Frederick, MD. The Carrollton Manor Chapter of the National Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and Edenton Retirement Community proudly recognized resident veterans on Monday, Nov. 11, at a special Veterans Day celebration.

Dana French, captain, U.S. Navy (retired) provided insightful remarks — focusing on the need for all veteran’s to “tell their story.” This is so important for historical reference and understanding, but also to share with young people today so they are aware that military service can be an outstanding career. Veterans were encouraged to share their stories broadly – family, friends, and students — as to what they learned in the military and what they are most proud of.

Harriet Sampieri was given a certificate of appreciation by the Carrollton Manor Chapter for her tireless efforts to support our military personnel by regularly sending out care packages and assuring them they are appreciated and not forgotten.

Each veteran was given a certificate of appreciation for their service and a gift bag by Julie Holmes, second vice regent, while Sharon Suarez, first vice regent, read their names:
