Employer roundtables scheduled in southeast NM

Jan. 7—Workforce challenges in southeast New Mexico will be the topic of multiple conversations with state and local leaders during a series of roundtables starting today.

New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions Cabinet Secretary Sarita Nair will be traveling to the corner of the state to unveil new names and logos for the local workforce centers and to have employer roundtable discussions on Wednesday and Thursday in Hobbs, Artesia and Roswell.

Community members can attend the events and also tour the renamed workforce centers to learn about programs and services designed for job seekers and employers.

Here’s the itinerary:

—Hobbs: Ribbon-cutting ceremony, Wednesday, 1-1:30 p.m., 204 W. Park St., 88240; roundtable discussion, 2-4 p.m., New Mexico Junior College, Watson Hall Auditorium, 1 Thunderbird Rd., 88240.

—Artesia: Ribbon-cutting ceremony, Thursday, 8-8:30 a.m., 704 W Main St., 88210; roundtable discussion, 9-11 a.m., Artesia Public Schools Board Room, 301 Bulldog Blvd., 88210.

—Roswell: Ribbon-cutting ceremony, Thursday, 3:15-3:45 p.m., 67 University Blvd., 88203; roundtable discussion, 1-3 p.m., Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell Commons Area, 56 University Blvd., 88203.
