A man who fatally shot another during a Near East Side altercation more than two years ago will spend several more years in prison.
Rickey Mackey, 36, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in connection with the Nov. 1, 2022, shooting death of 53-year-old Allen Mullins.
Judge Kimberly Cocroft sentenced Mackey to five to seven and a half years in prison.

Mullins, of the Near East Side, drove himself to Ohio State University East Hospital after being shot around 12:25 p.m. on the 1600 block of Harvard Avenue on the Near East Side. Mullins died a short time later.
Court records say Mullins and Mackey had gotten into an altercation before the shooting.
As part of a plea agreement in Mackey’s case, a murder charge was dismissed.
