FBI seeking public assistance in identifying victims of former Holdenville teacher

Jan. 14—The FBI is asking for the public’s help with identifying victims in an ongoing investigation related to the receipt of Child Sexual Abuse Material.

On Dec. 10, 2024, a federal grand jury returned an indictment against Cody Ryan Richison, 34, for receipt of certain material involving the sexual exploitation of a minor. Richison is currently out of jail on bond.

Richison was an Agricultural Education Instructor at Holdenville High School and a Future Farmers of America Advisor who has had extensive access to children.

It is alleged that Richison received approximately 100 photos and videos of children being sexually abused beginning in or about January 2020. The children being abused were both male and female of varied ages and included victims as young as infants.

Court records show the investigation into Richison began after a man confessed to viewing, receiving, and sending child pornography to agents in August 2024. A search of the man’s cell phone identified texts between the man and Richison talking about having sexual relations with a minor.

Richison was also the subject of a CyberTipLine Report to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that Richison had child pornography on his cell phone, an affidavit filed in the case states.

After agents conducted a search warrant on Richison’s property in Holdenville, the man confessed to receiving approximately 100 photos and videos of children being sexually abused from a person identified in court documents as C.S., who “is an individual known to law enforcement and is currently the subject of a prosecution for child sexual exploitation.” according to the affidavit.

Richison said he received “at least one” image in March 2024 while employed at Holdeville High School and “knew his actions were wrong.”

The FBI has reason to suspect there are additional victims of Richison that have not yet been identified.

The FBI asks anyone with any information about a victim of Cody Richison or any information relevant to this investigation to contact the FBI by emailing RichisonCase@fbi.gov or reporting it at tips.fbi.gov.

A trial in the case is currently scheduled to begin on April 1, 2025, at the federal courthouse in Muskogee.
