Fletcher is first woman from Lubbock PD to graduate FBI National Academy

A 22-year veteran of the Lubbock Police Department made department history when she graduated from the FBI National Academy earlier this month.

Lt. Paige Fletcher was among 257 law enforcement officers from across the globe to participate in the academy, and she is the first woman from the Lubbock Police Department to graduate from the esteemed program.

The academy was held in Quantico, Virginia from Sept. 29 to Dec. 12 and included men and women from across the U.S., including the District of Columbia and Guam. Members of law enforcement from 27 different countries, eight military organizations and five federal civilian organizations attended the class, according to the FBI.

Fletcher joined LPD in January 2003 and said the knowledge she gained in Quantico will stay with her the rest of her career.

“I am deeply grateful to my family and department for supporting my attendance at the FBI National Academy,” Fletcher said in a news release. “The privilege of attending the advanced training will enhance my ability to serve my department, and the citizens of Lubbock, as we continue delivering exceptional service to our community, and all who pass through.”
