Police are looking for a vehicle believed to be tied to a shooting in Ansonia that landed a man in the hospital on Sunday.
Officers at 7:25 p.m. responded to Pork Hollow Road on the report of shots fired and found a 37-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound, according to Lt. Patrick Lynch of the Ansonia Police Department.
The victim, an Ansonia resident, was shot in the lower body, Lynch said. He was taken to an area hospital for injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
At the scene, Lynch said police found evidence indicating multiple shots had been fired. Investigators were also able to identify a vehicle of interest. Lynch said the vehicle is believed to be a newer model blue or gray Ford Mustang convertible with white license plates.
“This appears to be an isolated incident and there is currently no danger to the public,” Lynch said in a statement.
