A former corrections officer at the Hamilton County Justice Center faces up to three years in prison after being found guilty Friday of forcing a female inmate to engage in a sex act with him.
Quincy Scott, 26, was convicted of one count of sexual battery. Scott had chosen to have a bench trial, which took place earlier this month before Hamilton County Common Pleas Judge Jennifer Branch. The judge announced her decision Friday.
The incident happened May 3, 2024, in a section of the jail that houses women. According to Branch, the woman testified that Scott, with his pants unzipped and his genitals exposed, “told her to … suck it.”
The woman testified that “she did what she was told to do,” Branch said. “She was scared not to do what she was told to do by a corrections officer.”
Scott denied that it happened. According to Branch, he testified during the trial that he had “FaceTime sex with his fiancee” that night in the control room. He testified that he didn’t know the woman was there.
Branch said she found Scott’s testimony not credible. Branch noted that video showed him opening the door to the control room before the woman entered. She was there to clean it, according to Branch.
The woman was convicted of multiple theft charges and is now in a state prison.
Sentencing is set for Feb. 13. Because of the guilty finding, Branch set bond for Scott at $10,000, which he was expected to post Friday.
Scott worked as a corrections officer for less than a year. He resigned a month after the incident.
