Former Nashville assistant police chief John Sorace faces reckless homicide charges of his wife, the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Wednesday.
Detective Capt. Todd Sparks said in a press release that the sheriff’s office charged 87-year-old Sorace of Dundee Court near Murfreesboro on Jan. 9.
“The charges stem from an investigation into the death of his wife Jan. 9 at their Rutherford County home,” Sparks said in the press release from sheriff’s spokeswoman Lisa Marchesoni.
Sorace is being held on a $700,000 bond at Rutherford County Adult Detention Center in Murfreesboro.
