Two people were arrested and have been charged with first degree felony drug trafficking charges, the sheriff’s office reported, and those individuals may face additional charges as the investigation continues.

The sheriff’s office said the investigation began after they traced the source of fentanyl linked to a fatal overdose in Franklin County to the home on Fairwood Avenue. After executing a search warrant on the home, they found the fentanyl as well as additional evidence of a drug trafficking operation, including a small scale with drug residue on it and 9 mm bullets, photos from the investigation show.
