The Laurel County Grand Jury is set to hear the case of an East Bernstadt man charged with attempted murder and first-degree assault.
Timothy James Robinson, 40, of East Branch Road, was arrested at home just before 1 p.m. December 3 on a Laurel District Court warrant obtained by Laurel County Sheriff’s Detective Taylor McDaniel.
According to that warrant, on October 15, Robinson went to a Bentley Road residence and shot an occupant in the face with a handgun. Officers were initially unable to locate Robinson after he fled the scene.
Assisting in the arrest were Laurel County Sheriff’s deputies and the US Marshal Service.
Robinson was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center, where he remained at press time in lieu of a $50,000.
Robinson had been scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing Tuesday, with Laurel Circuit Clerk Roger Schott reporting that probable cause was found to send the case on for grand jury consideration.
Robinson’s next court date is January 17.
