Christmas has officially come and gone, and we all know what comes next: cleanup.
Whether you’re looking to dispose of your holiday trash right away or well into the new year, Columbus offers a number of services to help you get rid of holiday leftovers.
Since Christmas was Wednesday this year, the trash schedule is pushed back by one day.
Here’s what you can do with your Christmas tree.
Where to dispose of your Christmas tree
Trash removal services like Rumpke and Local Waste Services provide Columbus residents free Christmas tree pickup on their scheduled trash day. The tree must be free of all decorations, including tinsel, lights and ornaments.
Trees 8 feet or taller should be sawed in half and wrapped. Customers are encouraged to call their service a day before their scheduled pickup date.
Recycled trees can also be reused for mulch, compost, firewood and habitats for wildlife.
Russell Tree Experts in Westerville offers a complimentary Christmas tree disposal Jan. 2 and 3, at 3427 E. Dublin Granville Road, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Here are some more waste facilities available for tree disposal:
-
Com-Til Compost: 7000 Jackson Pike
