How dare Easton charge to park
Re “Free parking takes a hit at Easton,” Jan. 7: I would rather shop local at Easton Town Center than just pick a store on the internet and hit a keystroke from the comforts of my home and have my shopping delivered.
Not anymore.
Not only is it cold outside and traffic is a hassle, but now Easton Town Center is charging me for the pleasure of parking while I shop. The same dummy that decided to charge to park for virtually everywhere in the Short North and Grandview must now be working at Easton.

Come again! Biden’s ban didn’t cause inflation
Re Jan. 10 letter to the editor “Biden stops drilling — again” by Rick Lash of Reynoldsburg: Lash attempts to tie President Joe Biden’s action to limit and stop new leases as a cause for inflation.
However, he didn’t provide any information showing the direct relationship between the two. Look up: correlation does not imply causation.
Allow me to provide evidence to the contrary of his claims. Without the new leases, domestic oil production is higher on average now that at the end of former President Donald Trump’s administration (11,152 versus 13,457) according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration while at the same time, the number of unused leases is 6,653.
My question to Lash and others that believe as he does: If oil production is higher than ever and we already have thousands of leases that are not in use, how would limiting the number of new leases cause inflation?
Are you attempting to imply that the number of leases impacts inflation instead of the quantity of oil produced?
Perhaps we should look for other solid conditions that pushed inflation instead of trying to manufacture one.

Change at what cost
Re Jan. 8 letter to the editor “When Trump wins, America loses” by John E. Reinier Sr. of Columbus: I agree wholeheartedly with the letter.
Donald Trump promised lots of things he would do as soon as he was elected, but when Time magazine interviewed him, he started backing down on the promises he made in order to get elected.
He admitted what we all knew: that prices are hard to bring down once they are up and it would be hard to end a war as he promised because he knew so many world leaders.
I couldn’t believe so many voted for such a nasty-mouthed and lying person.
He and JD Vance said they would tell lies if that would get people’s attention. I heard JD say it.
I guess the American people just wanted a change so badly, they voted for him. May God watch over us and keep us safe.
Pray for Trump, too (we all need it).
