Monday’s snowfall accounted for 4.2 inches of that total. The accumulation set a daily record for the most snowfall on any Jan. 6 in Cincinnati, breaking the previous record of 3.5 inches set in 1981.

And don’t expect it to melt off any time soon. Forecasters say the deep freeze will remain throughout the week, bringing below-normal temperatures and sub-zero wind chills. Plus, a system moving throughout the area will bring additional chances for light snow Friday and Saturday.

On Tuesday, expect a high near 27 degrees. Light flurries may pop up in the evening and end around 1 a.m.
