Indiana American Water issued a Boil Water Advisory affecting about 800 customers in North Terre Haute on Monday afternoon.
This advisory is expected to be in effect for approximately 24 hours, ending Tuesday at 1:45 p.m.
General locations include North 13th Street from Fort Harrison Road to Park Avenue, and on Lafayette Street and North Clinton Street north of Fort Harrison Road to Head Road, including Head Road.
Any water to be used for drinking or cooking should be brought to a rolling boil for 3 minutes. Water can be used for bathing, washing and other common uses.
Indiana American Water crews were restoring services after a private fire service main was hit by a contractor and water pressure dropped in multiple areas on the one-way water main feed.

Customers who signed up for alerts through their MyWater account will receive another notification should additional action be required or conditions change.
Landlords with water service in their name are asked to inform their tenants.
The Vigo County School Corp said the boil advisory area includes two VCSC schools, Terre Town Elementary and Otter Creek Middle School.

Both will remain open under. Indiana American Water and the school district confirmed the situation would not affect classes or students.
Necessary adjustments will be made at each location, including possible changes to the lunch menu, VCSC said. Bottled water was delivered to both schools, although the district asks students to consider bringing their own bottled water.
