Jan. 7—CARTHAGE, Mo. — Election of new members for the Jasper County University of Missouri Extension Council will take place Jan. 21-24.
The Jasper County University of Missouri Extension Council is composed of 25 members. Twenty are elected, and five represent appointments by eligible committees and farm organizations having at least 25 members in the county. The new council begins its duties March 1, according to state law.
Anyone 18 or older is eligible to vote. Ballots may be cast at University of Missouri Extension in the courthouse basement at 302 Main St. in Carthage or at https://extension.missouri.edu/counties/jasper.

—Gail Lawrence, of Carthage.
—William (Dale) Lawrence, of Carthage.
—John Marshal, of Carthage.
—Lisa Daoud, of Sarcoxie.

—Shiela Immesote-Foster, of Joplin.
Every county in Missouri has an extension council made up of elected and appointed members who represent the educational needs and backgrounds of people in that county. The council works with University of Missouri Extension staff members in planning and making recommendations for educational programs.
University of Missouri Extension offers educational programs in such categories as agriculture, home economics, business and industry, community development, youth development, and various continuing education courses, seminars and workshops.
