JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – A Johnstown man was jailed Monday in connection with a June 25 assault during which he allegedly choked and bit a woman and then tried to drag her into his truck, authorities said.
East Taylor Township police charged Michael Jeremy Robinson, 36, of the 100 block of Hudson Street, with aggravated assault and simple assault.
According to a complaint affidavit, a woman told police that Robinson came to her home in a red Chevrolet pickup truck around midnight June 25.
Robinson allegedly choked the woman, bit her on her right thigh and attempted to drag her into the truck. The woman broke free and immediately dialed 911, the complaint said.
Once Robinson knew police officers were on their way, he allegedly ran into the woods behind the home.
Police called EMS after they found that the woman had bruises on her face and neck and a bite mark on her thigh, the complaint said.
Police searched the wooded area, but were unable to locate Robinson.
Johnstown police arrested Robinson Monday after they allegedly found him driving a Dodge Challenger in an alley along 300 Place.
According to a complaint affidavit filed by city police, Robinson climbed out of the vehicle and attempted to run before an officer stopped him at gunpoint.
Robinson was charged with flight to avoid apprehension, evading arrest and related counts.
Robinson was arraigned by on-call District Judge Mary Ann Zanghi, of Vinco, and sent to Cambria County Prison in Ebensburg after failing to post 10% of $50,000 bond.
