Lancaster woman arrested on suspicion of murder in Pleasant Township shooting death

LANCASTER – Police have arrested a Lancaster woman on suspicion of murder after they say they found a man shot to death Friday in a Pleasant Township home.

Fairfield County Sheriff’s deputies responding to a report of a shooting at a home in the 3000 block of Tschopp Road, Pleasant Township, found Darby Russell, 51, of Lancaster, dead from an apparent gunshot wound, according to the sheriff’s office.

Detectives arrested Kimberly Russell, 44, of Lancaster, on suspicion of aggravated murder and took her to the Fairfield County jail, according to the sheriff’s office. As of Saturday afternoon, no charges had been filed against her, according to online court records.

The Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau continues to investigate and asks anyone with any information about the shooting to submit a tip on the office’s mobile app or call 740-652-7911.
