Jan. 7—MADISON — Newly elected and reelected legislators were sworn into office Monday, Jan. 6 at the state Capitol.
Among them, new Rep. Angela Stroud, D-Ashland, was sworn to represent the 73rd District in the Wisconsin Assembly.
Stroud said she takes on the new role with a commitment to serving the residents of the 73rd, which includes the northern portions of Ashland, Bayfield and Douglas counties, and to “working toward positive and effective change” in the Legislature.
“There are so many issues that people want addressed,” Stroud said in a prepared statement. “From increasing public school funding to expanding access to affordable health care and housing, we have critical work to do.”
Stroud was elected to her first term during the November election after Rep. Angie Sapik, R-Lake Nebagamon, decided not to seek a second term.
“Wisconsinites know that we need government to be a force for good in our lives,” Stroud said. “I look forward to working hard with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to get results.”
Rep. Chanz Green, R-Grand View, is beginning his second term as the representative of the 74th Assembly District, which includes southern Douglas County after legislative districts were redrawn last year.
