President-elect Donald Trump cheated on wife #1 with wife #2, cheated on wife #2 with wife #3, and cheated on wife #3 with Playboy model Karen McDougal and Stormy Daniels. He bragged about his ability to sexually assault women and was successfully sued for doing it. But the party of family values supported him.
Trump lies incessantly. He lied about President Barack Obama’s birthplace. The Washington Post’s Fact Checker recorded 30,573 lies during his presidency, up to 50 lies daily. Everyone saw his smaller inaugural crowd size. There’s the stolen election lie. The religious right supported him.
His businesses declared bankruptcy six times. Trump’s namesake charity and university were shut down for fraud. He was convicted of civil tax fraud $486 million in New York, plus 32 financial fraud felonies. Many believe he’s a good businessman.
Thousands of Trump’s followers swallowed his stolen election lie and staged an insurrection on Jan. 6, 2021. They assaulted and injured 140 police officers. Four later died. The party of law and order supported him.
He denied COVID-19 until it ran rampant, suggested bleach as a treatment and mocked masking, so America’s COVID death toll greatly exceeded other advanced countries. Thousands died from believing his lies.
Trump’s COVID lies and incompetence provoked the conditions leading to the inflation that President Joe Biden inherited. Biden has led the fastest economic recovery in decades, but voters chose Trump,
Truth, justice, and the American way apparently matter less than the price of eggs.
