Dec. 20—LIMA — A Lima man pleaded not guilty Thursday in the Allen County Common Pleas Court on charges of aggravated burglary, a first-degree felony, and felonious assault, a second-degree felony.
According to a statement of facts by Lima Police Detective Matt Woodworth provided in Lima Municipal Court documents, on Oct. 23, officers responded to a burglary report. A woman said Liuber Gonzalez, 46, was mad at her because she was dating someone else. Gonzalez allegedly walked into the residence uninvited and punched her, then struck a man with a hammer on the back of the head, knocking him to the ground.
During a conversation with Woodworth, Gonzalez said the door opened on its own and confirmed some of the events but denied striking the man with the hammer.
Gonzalez is being held in the Allen County Jail on a $50,000 bond. A pretrial has been set for Jan. 6.
