List of top 100 popular baby names in 2024 is out. What are the top trends for 2025?

The annual list of newborn names is out. In a release from BabyCenter for most popular infant names, they compiled a list of the top 100 names of 2024.

The top 10 list of names for both boys and girls was akin to 2023, barring a few changes, BabyCenter said. The top seven names for boys in 2024 were exactly the same as last year, while the bottom three shifted with Ezra rising a spot to No. 8, Asher rising two spots to No. 9, Leo falling two spots to No. 10 and Luca falling off the list.

Noah was the most popular name for boys, followed by Liam and Oliver, while Olivia was the most popular for girls, followed by Amelia and Emma, as per BabyCenter’s list. “‘E’ names for boys” and names ending with “-lee” or “-lyn” for girls were also popular.

What are the most popular baby name trends for 2025?

Parents get baby name inspiration from many places. Music, television, movies, sports, someone in their family, etc.

In accordance with their methodology, BabyCenter’s State of Baby Names initiative has been tracking and analyzing popular baby names since 2004. The Hottest Baby Name Trends of 2024 report highlights the top rising and falling names based on data from BabyCenter parents, collected as of October 15, 2024. This dataset includes names from over 500,000 babies born in 2024. In instances where two or more names in the top 500 have the same number of occurrences, ties were resolved by ranking the names alphabetically.

According to Baby Center, here are trending names that parents are likely naming their children in 2025.

  • As per Baby Center, Raphael, the No. 2 boy name in France in 2023, is up 121 spots in the U.S. to No. 328. And Louis, France’s No. 4 boy name in 2023, is up 87 spots for BabyCenter parents, so it’s now No. 267.

  • Louise was the No. 1 girl name in France last year, and it’s currently up 63 spots to No. 816 among U.S. BabyCenter parents.

  • After the battle between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, the name Kendrick is up 32 spots for boys to No. 402 – while Drake dropped 103 spots to No. 807.

  • Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark’s name is up more than 2,000 spots for girls now at No. 2,602.

  • Parents are inspired by Sabrina Carpenter and Billie Eilish’s music. According to Baby Center, Sabrina is up 109 spots for girls to No. 342, and Billie is up 37 spots for girls to No. 842.
