Louisville Metro Alcoholic Beverage Control has suspended a Newburg neighborhood liquor store’s license after the store was raided by law enforcement, Louisville Metro ABC spokesperson Brandon Bowden said in a statement Wednesday.
Louisville Metro ABC issued an emergency suspension order for Liquor Palace 5, located in the 5600 block of Preston Highway, Bowden said.

The business can request to appeal the suspension within three to 10 days, though the suspension would remain in effect as that process unfolds if the business decides to take that route, Bowden said.
“Louisville Metro ABC is committed to maintaining public safety and ensuring compliance with alcohol regulations. We will continue to work closely with our law enforcement partners as this investigation progresses,” Bowden said in a statement.
Louisville Metro Police officers and agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives forced their way inside of the store for a law enforcement operation Friday, but both agencies have declined to reveal the cause for investigation.
“ATF Louisville Division, assisted by LMPD and other law enforcement agencies, conducted a law enforcement operation involving multiple court-authorized warrants. We are not able to comment on active investigations,” ATF spokesperson Jennifer Hicks said previously in a statement.
